Guwahati, Apr 12: The Assam Government today decided to act as per the Centre's directive on the nationwide lockdown to combat the spread of COVID 19.
A state Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister SarbanandaSonowal, decided that it will formulate its next course of action based on the directives of the Centre on the lockdown. The state government will not take any decision on the lockdown. The ongoing 21-day nationwide lockdown is slated to get over at midnight of April 14. Many states, including West Bengal, Odisha, Maharashtra and Punjab, have decided to extend the lockdown in their respective states, while the Centre is yet to announce its directives.(UNI)
