Guwahati, Mar 2 : The Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) of Assam paid its first interim dividend to the state government here today. Managing Director, NRL, SK Barua presented the cheque of company’s first interim dividend amounting Rs 136.23 crore to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal for the financial year 2019-20.
This was the dividend for nine months of the financial year till December. The Chief Minister received the cheque as part of the dividend against Government of Assam’s equity holding of 12.35 per cent in the company.
The final dividend will be decided at the NRL’s board meeting after the current financial year ending on March 31, 2020. Industry and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Commissioner and Secretary KK Dwivedi, and senior officials of NRL were present during presentation of the dividend cheque. (UNI)
