Guwahati, Nov 29 : The Opposition Congress MLAs in Assam today went to the ongoing Winter Session of the state Legislative Assembly wearing garlands made of onions.
Several Congress MLAs wore garlands of onions to protest the skyrocketing of prices of onions.
They, however, refrained from entering the Floor of the House with the garlands. Later talking to media, Congress MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed said, "The prices of all commodities are hitting the roof. But the government is not doing anything to control it."
"We shall continue to protest and place before the government the demands of the people and the problems afflicting them," another MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi said. (UNI)
