Guwahati, Jul 30 : The flood situation in Assam further improved with water on a receding trend across the state.

Assam State Disaster Management Authority sources informed here today that the number of affected districts has gone down to 13 now.

The affected population has also decreased to 7.92 lakh.

The number of relief camps has also come down to 417, where over 30,000 people are still taking shelter.

The major rivers flowing over the danger level are Brahmaputra at Neamatighat (Jorhat) and Dhubri, Dhansiri (S) at Numaligarh (Golaghat) and Kushiara at Karimganj (Karimganj). (UNI)
