Guwahati, May 23 : The ruling coalition of BJP-AGP-BPF are in the lead in Assam with trends available for all 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
As per ECI report at 1035 hours, the coalition partners are together in the driver’s seat in 11 constituencies.
The BJP is leading in 8 seats, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) in two and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) in one. The main Opposition party in the state, Congress, is ahead in one seat, while All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) is in the lead in two seats.
The ruling coalition partners had contested the polls under a seat sharing arrangement, with BJP fielding candidates in 10 seats, AGP in three and BPF in one. The Congress had fielded candidates in all 14 seats and the AIUDF had confined to contesting the three seats it had won in last Lok Sabha election.
In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, BJP had bagged seven seats, three each by Congress and AIUDF and one by an Independent. (UNI)
