Guwahati, Feb 6 : Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma today presented a deficit budget of Rs 1193.04 crore with capital outlay of Rs 381688.27 crore for 2019- 20 with no new tax proposals.
The major highlight of the budget was the rise in state allocation of grant to temples across the state by more than two lakh rupees.
Free school uniform for BPL students will be provided while government will disburse Rs 50 thousand as a one time help for student taking educational loan.
The budget also proposed to start a universal pension scheme for widow aged above 60 years. (UNI)
