New Delhi, Nov 5 : Noted Hindi writer Nasira Sharma will be conferred with the prestigious 'Vyas Samman' 2019 for her novel 'Kagaz ki Naav'.
The honour awarded by K K Birla Foundation comprises of a sum of Rs four lakhs, a citation and insignia.
Born on August 22, 1948 in Allahabad (Prayagraj), Ms Sharma completed her MA in Persian language and literature. The novel, through a Muslim family, tells the poignant and heartwarming story of Savari Ganga Tehzeeb, which has flourished for centuries in a district of Bihar.
The first 'Vyas Samman' was received in 1991 by eminent critic Dr Ram Vilas Sharma. (UNI)
