Margao, May 3 : The Goa Heritage Festival 2019 commenced amidst much funfair and enthusiasm at the Opinion Poll Square Fatorda here on Friday. The festival was inaugurated on Thursday evening at the hands of Parimal Rai, IAS, Chief Secretary of Goa, in the presence of Daulat Hawaldar, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary Finance, Government of Goa, J Ashok Kumar, IAS, Secretary Tourism, Government of Goa, Sanjiv Gadkar, Director, Department of Tourism and host of dignitaries and officials.
Various events, including drawing and photography competitions on heritage themes, heritage walks etc, are scheduled to be held during the event that will conclude on Sunday. Exhibition and display on handicrafts and books, food stalls and beverages are also a big draw for tourists and locals. The festival will go on for four days to promote Goan heritage. (UNI)
