Agartala, Feb 28 : Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb sat for an hour last evening at Agartala Book Fair in odd weather to sign the book written by him on last king of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya.
Deb had expressed his willingness to witness the sale of his book in the book fair and accordingly, he went there despite heavy shower. By that time, a large number of buyers queued in front of book fair office to get the autograph of chief minister that included children, youths and elders.
Deb did not deny anybody rather put signature on as many as 41 copies of his book and interacted with each of the readers. He also solicited feedback from the readers individually and requested them to write him back if they feel any improvement is needed.
This is for the first time chief minister attend the book fair for signing the copies. “I am not a writer but after going through the literature of Bir Bikram Kishore, I was overwhelmed and excited that prompted me to express my gratitude towards his vision. I felt it is necessary for the younger generation because the developmental vision of Maharaj was extra ordinarily brilliant, which needs to be propagated,” Deb told media.
A Delhi based publisher brought out the book in Bengali and Hindi and soon it will be translated in English for global readers, said the publisher adding that the book was released by Prime Minister early this month during his Tripura visit and it has good demand. (UNI)
