Vijayawada, May 7 : Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly N Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock over the gas leak incident in LG Polymers Chemical plant in Visakhapatnam where five people had died and more than 200 people fell sick and admitted in hospitals. Expressing shock over the gas leak incident, the Governor asked the officials to take steps on war-footing to rescue the people from spot He told the officials to avail the services of Red Cross volunteers.
Mr Harichandan asked the Red Cross society to set up medical camps to provide treatment to the victims. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Naidu said “Shocked to learn about the deaths and hundreds being affected by a gas leak from a plant near Visakhapatnam. I urge everyone to take necessary precautions as advised by the officials''. (UNI)
