Vijayawada, May 1: More than one lakh swab samples of suspects have been tested in Andhra Pradesh so far and steps were taken to minimise the deaths of Covid-19 in the state. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting with the officials here on Friday and reviewed the situation. The officials informed the Chief Minister that 2000 tests are being carried out to every one million population in the state. So far 1,00,997 samples had been tested and Andhra Pradesh had stood top in this regard.
The officials also apprised the Mr Reddy that there are 235 clusters including 79 very active clusters, 68 active clusters and 53 dormant clusters. There had been no patients in 35 clusters since April 28, the officials told the Chief Minister. As part of steps taken to minimise the deaths of Covid-19, family survey was conducted for 32,792 people and 17,585 were identified and swab samples of them were tested. The tests to the remaining people would also be conducted in next two days, the officials said. The Chief Minister directed the officials to identify 4000 people who were at high risk zone and provide them medical support as a preventive measure. He asked them to ensure that proper coordination was maintained between telemedicine, village clinics and PHCs.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that the paddy procurement is being carried out in a speedy manner. Agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu, Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney, DGP Gautham Sawang and Special Chief Decretary Jawahar Reddy were among those who are present. (UNI)
