COVID-19 : 62 new positive cases reported in AP, death toll rises to 29

Vijayawada, Apr 24: Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a steady rise of Coronavirus positive cases as 62 new cases have been reported during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 955.

A health bulletin here on Friday, said that 62 new positive cases of Coronavirus were reported from 9 am on Thursday to 9 am on Friday. Out of the 62 new positive cases, 27 were reported in Kurnool district, 14 in Krishna district, 11 in Guntur district, 4 in Anantapur district, 3 in Prakasam district, two in East Godavari district and one in Nellore district. Significantly, the deaths of Covid-19 pandemic are also rising steadily as 29 people have died in the State so far.

Two deaths have been reported since the lat 24 hours---one in Anantapur district and another in Kurnool district. Out of the total 955 positive cases, 261 were reported Kurnool district, 206 in Guntur district, 102 in Krishna district, 73 in Chittoor district, 68 in Nellore district, 53 in Prakasam district, 51 in Kadapa district, 46 in Anantapur district, 39 in West Godavari district, 34 in East Godavari district and 22 in Visakhapatnam district. As many as 145 persons had recovered from Coronavirus and were discharged from various hospitals. At present, 781 people are undergoing treatment in the hospitals for the Covid-19 pandemic. No Coronavirus positive cases have been reported in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts so far, the bulletin said. (UNI)
