Vijayawada, Apr 3: Many industries, firms, Telugu film hero and a government department donated large sums of money to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to take preventive measures to contain the COVID-19 threat.
An official statement here on Thursday night said, Aurobindo Pharma Foundation donated Rs 11 crore to the CMRF.
Aurobindo Pharma Director Sharat Chandra Reddy handed over Rs 7.50 crore cheque to Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. The company would donate Rs.3.50 crore worth high end medical kits, masks and sanitizers to the government soon.
KIA Motors, India donated Rs 2 crore to the CMRF. Its Managing Director and CEO K Shim handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister.
Sri City donated Rs 2 crore to the CMRF. Its Fonder and Managing Director Sannareddy Ravindra Babu handed over the cheque to Mr Reddy.
Varshini Charitable trust donated Rs.1.10 crore. Popular Telugu film hero and Bahubali fame, Prabhas donated Rs.50 lakh to the CMRF. G L Manthas donated Rs.25 lakh.
The IAS officers association donated 3 days salary to the CMRF. The Jel caps industries donated Rs.5 lakh.
Meanwhile, the Panchayat Raj and Mines department has donated Rs 200.11 crore to the CMRF. Minister for Panchayat Raj Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister at the camp office last night. (UNI)
