Amaravati, Mar 19 : Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education A Suresh said that the Intermediate and SSLC examinations would be held as per the schedule even though all the educational institutions would remain closed till March 31 in view of coronavirus.
Talking to the media here on Thursday, the Minister said, except residential schools which are conducting examinations, all other institutions including private universities, state universities, affiliated colleges, and schools would remain shut down till March 31. However, Intermediate and SSC exams would be held as per schedule and all precautionary steps would be taken to maintain the statutory distance and other measures, he said.
“In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, under the guidance of the Health Department, a few changes in seating arrangements for Intermediate and SSC examinations are in place. Any candidate with common fever or cold or with any other symptoms will be made to sit in a separate room during the examinations. Even the paper valuations will be done by taking all precautionary measures,” he added.
Mr Suresh said that special transport facilities are being arranged for the students to go back to their homes from residential institutions, colleges, and universities. The decision to resume the classes would be reviewed after March 31, he added. (UNI)
