Amaravati, Mar 5 : Andhra Pradesh Ministers held a review meeting on providing drinking water to areas in the state which face acute scarcity during summer. Panchayat Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy and Revenue minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose held a review meeting and it has been decided to provide drinking water through tankers to 6,352 habitations in the state at a cost of Rs 204.75 crore.
Drinking water for cattle would be supplied through tankers to 2055 habitations at a cost of Rs.20.19 crore. Officials told the Ministers that 2,440 bores needed to be digged and the depth of 968 bores should be further increased by carry out digging. De-siltation should be carried out to 325 SS tanks at a cost of Rs.5.80 crore to enhance the storage capacity.(UNI)
