Vijayawada, Oct 27 :  Telugu Desam Party has suffered a major blow as its Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan has resigned to the MLA post and party members as well.

Mr.Vamsi Krishna was elected from Gannavaram constituency overcoming the anti-incumbency from Gannavaram constituency and he is a popular TDP leader in Krishna district.

Mr.Vamsi Mohan in a letter to the TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said that he decided to resign to his MLA post as well as TDP membership.
“After having been elected again as MLA, my associates and followers are in neck deep trouble due to the vindictive attitude of local YSRCP in-charge, and partisan attitude of some government employees. I believe that their problems will be compounded multiple times due to me, being at the helm rpt helm of affairs. Hence I have decided to quit from politics to safeguard them by reducing unnecessary and unwanted animosity”, he said in his resignation letter.

Interestingly, the TDP MLA, who is very close friend of ministers Kodali Venkateswara Rao and Pernti Venkatramaiah, met Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on October 26. Speculation is ripe that he is going to join the ruling party soon.

The Chandrababu Naidu led Telugu Desam party, which suffered a rout in the last elections, has won only 23 MLA seats out of total 175 seats. It may be mentioned here that few months ago, 4 TDP Rajya Sabha members including Y Sujana Chowdary, C M Ramesh and T G Venkatesh quit the party and joined the BJP. Now the MLA’s resignation is another big jolt to Chandrababu Naidu and the TDP as well
