Kadapa, Sep 2 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with his family members, paid floral tributes to his late father and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy on the occasion of 10th death anniversary at YSR ghat at Idupulapaya village in the district on Monday.
The Chief Minister, his mother Y S Vijayalakhsmi, wife Y S Bharati, elder sister Y S Sharmila and other family members paid floral tributes at the tomb of Rajasekhar Reddy and participated at special prayers.
Large number of YSRCP leaders, including TTD Board Chairman Y S Subba Reddy and government Chief Whip G Srikanth Reddy were present. The then chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was killed in helicopter crash on September 2, 2009.
Later, the Chief Minister went to Pulivendula town in the district and unveiled the statue of former minister and his paternal uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister in his twitter recalled the unforgettable contribution of his father and former Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to the suffering poor.
In Twitter, YS Jagan said that Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s welfare governance was a model which states across the country followed and made the Telugus hold their heads up with pride and dignity. "Though Y S Rajasekhar Reddy is no longer amidst us physically, I live with us through his memorable governance model and welfare schemes," Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
His memory serves as a source of inspiration to tread upon the path of value-based politics, the tweet added. (UNI)
