ONGC adopts Buddhist stupa at Adurru in AP dist

Kakinada, Jul 14 : The ONGC Eastern offshore asset has adopted the ancient Buddhist stupa at Adurru village in Konaseema region of East Godavari District for its beautification and protection as the historical monument, at a simple function held here on Sunday.

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Social Welfare Pinipa Viswaroop who attended as the chief guest has complimented the ONGC for initiating several social welfare activities as a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) under its area of operations. Amalapuram MP Chinta Anuradha has lauded the ONGC for initiating Swachh bharat activities aimed at protecting the environment and promotion of tourism in Konaseema region.

Arvind Morbale, Executive Director and Asset Manager Eastern offshore said that the ONGC was working towards improvement of social living and provide basic needs of people around its operational areas. Earlier the ONGC officials have taken up cleaning up the premises of the Buddhist monument as a part of the Swachhata Pakhwada programme .
