Vijayawada, Jul 6 : Telugu Desam party Floor leader in Legislative Council and former Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu demanded that YSRCP Rajya Sabha member V Vijaya Sai Reddy, who was appointed as Special Representative of Government of Andhra Pradesh in New Delhi, should be disqualified as he was holding an 'Office of Profit' for 13 days.
In a statement here on Saturday, Mr Ramakrishnudu alleged that the state government had issued a GO to appoint him as Special Representative of AP.
However the government had withdrawn the GO after 13 days, realising its mistake.
Hence, Mr Reddy was holding Office of Profit for 13 days and he should be disqualified, the TDP leader demanded.
The YSRCP government is violating the Constitutional guidelines for the sake of their personal interest.
Now the YSRCP is making efforts to appoint Mr Vijaya Sai Reddy as Special Representative by passing an Ordinance, he alleged.
“The YSRCP government wants to appoint Mr Reddy as Special Representative of AP in Delhi for lobbying with the Centre to get rid of corruption cases”, the Ex-Finance Minister also alleged.
The TDP leader claimed that there is no instance of passing an Ordinance for an individual. He said that under Article 213, the Governor of the State could pass an Ordinance in the interest of people when there is no Assembly session.
Mr Ramakrishnudu alleged that the state government is misusing the provision of Ordinance for political mileage. (UNI)
