Farmers in capital region villages offer land to Naidu to construct house

Amaravati, Jun 29 : At the time, when the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government served notice to demolish the river-front residence of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, large number of farmers came forward to offer land to construct a house in the capital region itself.

Large number of farmers, including those who parted with their lands for the construction of capital city Amaravati, led by former MLA T Shrevan Kumar, met Chandrababu Naidu at his residence at Undavalli on Friday night.The farmers, including women, told Naidu that they are ready to give him land to construct a house in the capital region villages itself. “We have given 33,000 acres of land for the construction of capital city Amaravati. Can’t we give you 3,300 square yards of land to construct a house?, they told him.

Interestingly, some farmers announced that they would bear the expenditure of the construction of house for Naidu in their village. “Decide at which village in the capital region you want to live in. We construct a house for you with our money”, they told him.The farmers, who parted with their lands for Amaravati construction, told Naidu that the brand image of Amaravati would be damaged without Naidu.

Talking to the farmers, Mr Naidu told them that he understood their pain and agony. “My government had given you lucrative package for your lands. I will oppose the present government’s move for doing injustice to you,” he promised them.
Mr Naidu reminded them the Harwad University has taken the “Land Pooling Scheme”, under which the lands were taken from the farmers for the construction of Amaravati by his government, as a subject for study.

It may be mentioned here that the Capital Region Development Authority issued notice to Lingamaneni Ramesh, the owner of the house, in which Chandrababu Naidu is residing, stating that the house was constructed unauthorisedly and asked him to respond by one week.The CRDA dismantled the Rs 9 crore worth Praja Vedika conference hall which was built by the erstwhile Naidu-led government adjacent to Naidu’s residence to hold government and party programmes.(UNI)
