Hyderabad, Jun 14 : Southwest Monsoon is likely to arrive in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on June 19, Meteorological Department said on Friday.
In a bulletin here, It said the Monsoon has further advanced into some parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and parts of Northeast India.
It also issued a heatwave warning for the districts in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and in several districts of Telangana.
MET also advised the public not to expose directly to sunlight and take necessary precautions due to heatwave.
Heatwave Conditions will prevail at isolated places in the districts of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam till June 16 while in the districts of Adilabad, Komarambheem, Nirmal, Nizamabad,, Jagitial , Mancherial, Kamareddy, Rajanna Sircilla, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad and Warangal of of Telangana till June 17.
However in Rayalaseema, the maximum temperatures likely to be above normal by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius at isolated places till June 16.
Met aso warned thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) and lightning at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam till June 18.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers was likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalamseema and Yanam during the next five days.
The highest maximum temperatures of 42.4 degress Celsius was recorded at Khammam in Telangana while 42.5 degrees Celsius recorded at Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh, the bulletin said. (UNI)
