Vijayawada, May 31: Hours after Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy took oath, Andhra Pradesh Government on Thursday night appointed Gautam D Sawang as new Director General of Police (DGP).
Chief Secretary LV Subramanyam issued orders appointing Sawang.The present DGP RP Thakur was transferred as DG to the Printing and Stationery department.The newly appointed DGP met Chief Minister at his residence here on Friday and discussed various issues.
The government also transferred Anti-Corruption Bureau DG A B Venkateswara Rao. He was relieved from duty and asked to report to the general administration department.
Meanwhile, in a major reshuffle of IAS officers in the CM’s office, four senior IAS officers, Satish Chandra, G Sai Prasad, M Girija Shanker, and AV Rajamouli, who played key role in the erstwhile N Chandrababu Naidu led government, were transferred.
Subramanyam issued orders in this regard yesterday.
The Chief Secretary also appointed Arokya Raj as the secretary of Chief Minister, K Dhanunjaya Reddy was appointed as Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister’s office. SS Rawat was appointed as Principal Secretary of Finance Department.
