Kakinada, May 17: East Godavari Collector Kartikeya Mishra on Friday said that as many as 5,098 personnel of all ranks were being deployed for counting of votes on May 23 for three Lok Sabha and 19 Assembly constituencies in the district.
He told media persons here that the counting of votes of all these constituencies would be held at the counting centers located in JNTUK, Rangaraya Medical College, Ideal college of engineering, District sports authority building complex and Nannaya University PG centre.
Collector had made it clear that full proof arrangements were being made for the votes counting, deploying 648 counting supervisors, 730 counting assistants, 709 Micro observers, 2100 supporting staff and 901 police personnel.
He said that necessary trainings were given to the counting staff at different levels and randomization of counting staff would also be done before counting.
He said that three tier security would be there at all counting centres and each counting centre would be monitored by DSP level officer.
Both the SPs of East Godavari and Rajahmundry Urban police district will monitor along with other senior level police officers and separate parking places of vehicles was also notified.
Strong rooms will be opened at 7.30 am by the respective Returning Officers in the presence of observers and contesting candidates or their agents and the counting of votes will start at 8 am sharp by counting postal ballots first.
Counting halls will be provided with 10 to 14 counting tables depending up on the actual rounds to be taken up.
Arrangements are being made to announce results round wise through Suvidha App designed by the Election Commission. The results would be declared one after the other by evening in each of the constituencies.
