Vijayawada, May 14 : About 94.88 per cent students have passed in the SSC (10th class) examination in Andhra Pradesh, the result of which was declared on Tuesday.
School Education Department Commissioner Sandhya Rani released the 10th class (School Secondary Certificate) examination at Ibrahimpatnam, near here. She said that a total number of 6,21,634 students studied 10th class during the 2018-19 academic year out of which 99.5 per cent had attended the examination which was held from March 18 to April 3 in 2,839 centres in the state.
She said that 94.88 per cent regular students passed the examination. The pass percentage of boys is 94.68 per cent and the pass percentage of girls is 95.09 per cent.Ms Sandhya said that 5,464 schools achieved 100 per cent pass result. However, three schools achieved dubious distinction of zero per cent pass. Out the three schools, which had achieved zero per cent pass result, two are private schools and one is aided school.
The Commissioner said that East Godavari district has stood top in the SSC result by securing 98.19 pass percentage while Nellore district stood in bottom with 83.19 pass percentage.
The advanced supplementary examination for those who failed in some subjects would be hold from June 17, she informed.Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Gorrala Navya who achieved second rank in the 10th class examination.
She met the Chief Minister in the Secretariat along with her parents.He appreciated her and wished her that she should achieve many such ranks in the future.Ms Navya secured 491 out of 500 marks. (UNI)
