Tirupati , May 13: On the day of Garuda Seva which falls on May 15, the Lord will be presented with precious jewels gifted from Tirumala as a part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams in Govinda Raja Swamy temple in Tirupati.
From the past six years, TTD has begun the practice of presenting gold ornaments in the coffers of Tirumala to important sub shrines of TTD like Tiruchanoor, Appalayagunta, Srinivasa Mangapuram, Kodandarama Swamy temple, Govindaraja Swamy temple. The donated ornaments were first brought to the Anjaneya temple in the Govindarajaswamy temple complex from Tirumala and later taken in a procession inside the complex after special pujas.
The presentation comprised of gold hands weighing 392.01 gram,(Varada Hastam), 250.04 grams (Kati Hastam) 417.850 (Vaikuntha Hastam) grams and the silver vessel weighing around 17 kgs and 800 grams. (UNI)
