YSRCP leaders complains SP over police taking sides in favour of TDP MLA

Kakinada, May 8 : YSRCP leaders on Wednesday complained to SP Vishal Gunni against some police officials acting in favour of Pithapuram TDP MLA Varma and filing false cases on opponents.

According to sources, delegation of YSRCP comprising of Pendem Dorababu Party Pithapuram coordinator, Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy Kakinada coordinator and former Minister Koppana Mohanarao has called on the SP at his office here and submitted a memorandum regarding the arrest two YSRCP activists, implicating them in a case relating to the mob fury against MLA Varma during electioneering that led to lathi charge at U Kothapalli police station.

They alleged that some police officials were acting at the dictates of the ruling party MLA and foisting cases against YSRCP workers. They also demanded action in the case registered against the MLA regarding polling booth capturing. The SP assured them of prompt action.

Later, the YSRCP leaders visited the Sub jail and consoled the party workers who were in judicial remand there. (UNI)
