Amaravati, Apr 26: Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gopal Krishna Dwivedi said that they required more than 21,000 staff during counting of votes on May 23, polled in the General Election in the state.
Talking to media here on Thursday, he said that the staff would not be informed till last minute in which polling station they would be participating during the counting of votes.
He said initially the postal and service votes would be counted on May 23.
Mr Dwivedi said that the VVPATs of five polling stations in the Assembly and Lok Sabha segments would be counted.
The CEO said that they are yet to receive orders from the ECI to conduct re-polling in five polling stations. (UNI)
