Kadapa, Apr 5 : Close on the heels of Income Tax officials conducting a raid on the residence of Mydukuru Telugu Desam Party Assembly candidate and Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD) Board Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav on Wednesday last, police conducted searches at the residence of party MP C M Ramesh at Potldurthi village in this district on Friday.
Talking to media, Mr Ramesh said that at around 6 am this morning, large number of police swooped on his house and conducted thorough searches and also in the houses of his close followers.
He said when he asked the policemen on what basis they were conducting searches in his house, he was told that as per the instructions of higher ups they were conducting searches in his house.
“The police personnel conducted searches in my house without search warrant. I have asked the policemen to wait till the media persons come but they did not listen. They searched my house for one hour but did not find anything”, he said.
The TDP MP alleged that the police conducted searchs in his house at the behest of Central government. He said that there is no need to afraid to anybody as he did not commit any mistake. Mr Ramesh is considered to be a close associate to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
It may be mentioned here that the Income Tax department officials conducted raid on the residence of TTD Board Chairman and Mydukuru TDP candidate Putta Sudhakar Yadav in Proddatur town in this district.
Meanwhile, in protest against conducting raids by IT and Police officials on the residences of TDP leaders, Mr Naidu is holding a protest dharna at Ambedkar statue in front of Tummalapalli auditorium this evening, a TDP release said.
