Political mileage should not be kept in view in protecting country: Naidu

Amaravati, Feb 28 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that political mileage should not be kept in view while taking decisions to protect the nation.

Addressing Telugu Desam party cadre through teleconference here, ambiguously pointing at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said, ''the decisions taken by a ruler, who is in top position, will decide the future of the country. If he takes decision on his own that will create a lot of problems to the country. While taking decisions to protect the sovereignty of the country, political mileages should not be kept in view''.

''The feeling of 'I can only save the country' is wrong'', he said, adding that there should be no compromise in protecting the integrity of the country.

Mr Naidu lauded IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was held captive by Pakistan, for his courage, and asked all to take inspiration from him.

Mr Naidu said that he was mercilessly beaten up by mob and he was bleeding, his bravery and courage could be seen on his face.

He did not divulge secrets and answered bravely to the Pakistani officials, he praised. The patriotism of the AIF Wing Commander is exemplary and the he is proud of him. He asked all to stand by his family and wished his safe return at the earliest. UNI
