Vijayawada, Feb 5 : Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) official Spokesperson Kolanukonda Shivaji termed the vote-on-account budget presented in the Assembly as a' jugglery of figures' and was far away from reality.

In a statement here on Tuesday, Shivaji said that the budget looked like wonderful on paper but it was away from reality.

The Congress leader wondered why the new schemes in the vote-on-account budget were announced. The government has introduced a full-fledged budget in the name of vote-on-account budget, he alleged.

The government, in a bid to cover up its ineptness, adopted the concept of welfare schemes. He described announcing of six new welfare schemes in the vote-on-account budget as an election gimmick.

“The government has not done anything for the benefit of farmers during the last four-and-half years. However, the government claimed that it has doubled the income of farmers which is far from truth, he added.

Mr.Shivaji deplored that the government did not accord statutory status to the BC sub-plan.

CPI state Secretary K Rama Krishna said that the government announced a new scheme 'Annadata Sukhibhava' for the farmers but the same government had deceived the farmers by not implementing agriculture loan waiver in toto as per the assurance it had given.

The budget is nothing but Jugglery of figures and prepared keeping in view of the ensuing general election, he said. (UNI)
