AP CM, Ministers, MLAs attend Assembly wearing black shirts

Amaravati, Feb 1: In protest against the BJP led Central government’s denial of Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, his ministerial colleagues and MLAs attended the Assembly session on Friday by wearing black shirts.

The Chief Minister wore a full hands black shirt and white trouser. The Ministers and MLAs were also seen in black shirts in the Assembly. However, Assembly Speaker Kodela Shiva Prasad Rao wore white shirt but wore a black badge. The Chief Minister, Ministers and TDP MLAs wore black shirts to register their protest against the Central government for its alleged hostile attitude toward AP in extending funds, granting SCS and honouring State Reorganisation Act provision.

The Chief Minister decided to attend the Assembly with black shirt today to extend solidarity to the Patyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi, which called for AP bandh today demanding the Centre to accord SCS and honour all Reorganisation Act assurances.

It may be mentioned here that the principal Opposition YSR Congress party led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy boycotted the budget sessions in protest against the ruling party admitting 23 MLAs and MLCs of the YSRCP. (UNI)
