Amaravati Dec 4 : As per the wish of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the Koti Deepotsawam, the lighting of one crore lamps programme will be held in the IGM stadium here on December 6 on the devotional occasion of Karthika Masam.
State Hindu Dharma Parirakshna Trust Chairman Chunduri Sita Ramanjaney Prasad talking to media here on Tuesday said that, over 5000 women will participate in the Koti Deepotsavam and light the lamps in the ground. The lighting of one crore lamps would begin at 4 PM and would continue till 8 PM. One the auspicious occasion, 130 priests recite vedas.
This devotional programme is being organized to invoke god to bless Andhra Pradesh to achieve progress and development. The state government’s endowment department is organising the event, he said.
Mr Prasad said that pooja material, wicks and oil to light the lamps would be provided at free of cost by the organizers and added that all people could take part in the devotional event.
On the occasion, several cultural and devotional programmes, including reciting of Sri Lakshmi-Lalita Sahasranama and Kuchipudi dance would be held.
HDPT Deputy director Sathya Bhaskar and Trust member Alla Ravi released pamphlet for the programme. (UNI)
