Six Myanmarese poachers apprehended from Kamorta Island

Port Blair, Sept 11: Six Myanmarese poachers have been arrested from the forest areas of Kakana Village of Kamorta island last Monday and the poachers are now being brought to Port Blair city.

As per sources, six days back the PS Kamorta Unit had seized a dinghy from the sea visible from Kakana Village.

It was learnt that six poachers on the small dinghy, had moved inside the woods of Kakana Village and were hiding inside the forest since last 6 days.

The extraordinary efforts and intelligence by the Jawans of PS Kamorta succeeded in apprehending all the six Burmese Poachers from the forest of Kakana Village.

All efforts are being made to transport these poachers to Port Blair city now.

Myanmar is located very close to Andaman and Nicobar Islands and hence often poachers from Myanmar come to these Islands to plunder marine resources of these Islands. (UNI)
