My fight against BJP, Cong will continue: Mayawati

 Feb 12, 2018

Reaffirming her 'never say die' spirit, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati said she would continue her struggle against the unjust social and political order, adding that neither the Congress has so far been able to defeat her, nor the machinations of BJP would make any difference in her endeavour.

Addressing a meeting of party leaders from Madhya Pradesh here on Sunday, Mayawati said "People of the UP would no longer be swayed by the emotional and divisive agenda of BJP and the economic condition of the common people, particularly the Dalits and the OBCs, has gone from bad to worse during the last four-year rule of Narendra Modi.

"Even the Yogi Adityanath government in the last one year has failed to make an impact on the lives of common people of UP. Like the electorate of Gujarat, the people of UP have made up their mind to dislodge BJP from power in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections,' said the former UP chief minister.

Attacking the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in Madhya Pradesh, the BSP chief claimed that the law and order situation in the state was very poor, while rampant corruption prevailed. She also claimed that BJP government in Madhya Pradesh had adopted an aggressive attitude towards weaker sections and Muslims.

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister held a meeting with her party leaders from Madhya Pradesh and directed them to strengthen the party's base among the masses for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state.
