Saina and Sindhu Win

The Indonesia Super Series Premier tournament in Jakarta witnessed India’s top women shuttlers, PV Sindhu and SainaNehwal winning their matches on Tuesday in the women’s singles.

Sindhu convincingly beat world no 2, Porn Pawee, Chochuwong of Thailand, 21-12, 21-19. World no 11 rallied against eighth seed ThairratchanokIntanon to win 17-21, 21-18, 21-12. Saina will now face another Thai player, NitchaonJindapol in the next round. It may be recalled that Saina is three time champion and if she wins the next round, she may have to clash with world no 1, Tai Tzu Ying in the Quarter Finals. Sindhu will play against USA’s Zhang Beiwen in the next round. In the mixed doubles, B Sumeeth Reddy and AshwiniPonappa lost to Indonesia’s IrfanFadilah and WeniAnggraini 12-21, 9-21.
