 The fruits of Ramadan

The fruits of Ramadan

 Jun 26, 2017

That what are the fruits of Ramadan could be interestingly summed up through  prophetic saying below

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah’s Messenger said, “When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.”

[Sahih al-Bukhari Book-30 Hadith-9]

Holy Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan as fasting in it is accounted as the fourth Pillar of Islam. Fasting helps to attain Taqwa which means to act those which please Allah and to abstain from those that displease Him.

Rather, to engage with Quran by reciting, learning, listening and sharing it with others is verily recommended in the month of Ramadan. The Night of Decree or The Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr ) is in this month, which is considered better than thousand months. It is in this Holy month, the gates of Paradise are opened, gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained up.

Hence, the month turns out the month of purification of mind as believers gets closer to Almighty's presence and hid benevolence. To observe fast is not only to abstain from the drinking and eating, also it means to abstain from bad thoughts and actions including lust and sexuality. Moreover, as plenty of rewards are offered by Almighty in this month, believers would be eager to finish the entire chapters in the Quran during this month.

The celebration of Eid-ul- Fitr matters at this moment especially when it is held after Muslims lived by the orders and restrictions put forth by Allah during Ramadan and performing special prayers in it. The day and night of Eid thus gives a special privilege for believers to celebrate it by having special food items, wearing new dresses etc. It is rather a gift given by Allah to his believers as to reward the sacrificing days of Muslims during Ramadan. An equal presence and moment of joy after the enduring days and nights of Ramadan, that is what Eid is.
