Lalu Yadav walks out of Hotwar jail on provisional bail

Former Bihar chief minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav who is serving imprisonment after being convicted in Fodder Scam cases, today walked out of the Birsa Munda Central Jail on provisional bail for six weeks.

After coming out of the jail, Mr Yadav drove straight to Birsa Munda Airport from where he will be boarding the evening flight to Patna. Alongwith him party MLA from Bhahadurpur Bhola Yadav is also accompanying Mr Lalu Yadav to Patna.

Earlier in the day the order of the high court related to provisional bail reached the CBI court after which two bail bonds of Rs 50,000 each were furnished after which the release orders were issued to the Hotwar jail administration. The court directed Mr Yadav to submit his passport so that he can not leave the country.

On Monday evening Mr Yadav had returned to Hotwar jail after the end of his three day parole which was granted to him to attend the wedding ceremony of his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav which was held on May 12 in Patna.

Jharkhand High Court on May 11 granted six weeks of provisional bail to Mr Yadav on health grounds. (UNI)
