Uzbek woman commits suicide in rehab centre at Amangal

A Uzbekistan Woman, who was rescued in a human trafficking case last year, allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling fan in a rehabilitation centre at Amangal  this district on Friday evening.

The 26-year-old woman resorted to the extreme step when her roommates at the Centre were away, Amangal police said on Sunday. The woman did not leave any suicide note. 

The victim, who had come to India on visitor's visa, was rescued from Saroornagar by Rachakonda police in 2017 and later produced before the court by registering a case under Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. The Court then asked the cops to shift her to Prajwala Home. (UNI)
