Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has requested Chief Justice of state High Court to set up a Fast Track Court (FTC) to try the brutal rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua in January.

The Crime Branch (CB) of Jammu and Kashmir police has already arrested eight people in this connection. Meanwhile, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has also favoured FTC to punish all those who will be found guilty in this inhuman act. Meanwhile, two BJP Ministers belong to the Jammu and Kashmir government has filed their resignations for attending a rally supporting the rape victim of Kathua.

Official sources told UNI that Ms Mehbooba has written a letter to CJ of HC requesting setting up the FTC to try the brutal rape and murder of minor girl in Kathua. The FTC, if set up, would be first such court in the state.  (UNI)
