Kerala scribe gives gangrape victim's name to daughter

Joining nationwide protest, a scribe working for a leading Malayalam daily had given the Kathua gangrape victim's name to his daughter.

Ranjith Ram, posted as Sub Editor with Mathrubhumi, said in a Facebook post that he had named his second daughter as ......K Raj.

Ranjith had prefixed the name of the victim, who was brutally murdered after gangrape in the insurgency ravaged Kashmir valley in January, 2018, suffixing K Raj. Name of the victim was withheld due to legal restrictions.

Stating the decision was taken with consent of his wife, he said, ''I have given name, yes only that name ......K Raj, she is my daughter.''

He had also uploaded her photo with the post which was getting accolades worldwide. (UNI)
